Measurement of cardiac output by M-mode and two-dimensional echocardiography: application to patients with hypertension

The development of echocardiography has permitted non-invasive estimation of left ventricular stroke volume wid cardiac output, albeit with some limitations. These approaches are particularly suited to hypertensive patients.
