Abstract
A patient with acute right ventricular infarction who showed hyposecretion of atrial natriuretic peptide (ANP) in spite of abnormally high right atrial pressure and who died of a severe low cardiae output syndrome is reported. Right atrial infarction, which was proven at autopsy, may be responsible for this endocrine failure.
