Dear Sir

In recent years, the practise of coronary heart disease prevention has seen a shift from a focus on single risk factors to an emphasis on the total burden of risk (global risk approach). We note the publication the Systematic Coronary Risk Evaluation (SCORE) project by Conroy et al. as an interesting contribution to this approach in Europe.1However, certain features of this paper are worthy ofcomment.
