This editorial refers to "Treatment of in-stent restenosis using a paclitaxel-eluting stent: acute results and long term follow-up of a matched-pair comparison with intracoronary ß-radiation therapy"1 by P.W. Radke et al. on page 920

For patients and interventional cardiologists, restenosis has been a major disappointment in the field of percutaneous, transluminal coronary angioplasty (PTCA) and patients with restenosis have suffered both physically as well as emotionally. The early spectacular results of treatment gradually faded away within three months and 6–12 months since the introduction of the intra-coronary stent.
